Hello, I'm Grant Mukai

My name is Grant Mukai and I am a Digital Marketing Coordinator for Toc Toc Communications in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

In the United States, I was the Managing Web Producer for the American Physical Society in Maryland. At APS, I was responsible for content strategy, design and structure propositions concerning our physics websites and I worked with our clients to better organize their digital content so they could promote the knowledge and teaching of physics and increase ethnic diversity within the field. I also audited content and tracked analytics to help our stakeholders better leverage their content.

Before taking this position, I worked as the Senior Digital Communications Manager at Project HOPE, an international global health organization operating in over 26 countries. While at Project HOPE, I successfully managed the transition of our new website and then managed our content strategy to increase our organic search and direct response fundraising.

I am a proud alumnus of Boston University's College of Communication where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in French Language and Literature.

In my free time, I can be found dancing Brazilian Zouk, a popular style of social dance.

I hope to hear from you soon!

What I Can Do

I enjoy what I do. I am proud of what I do. And I cannot do just half, three-quarters or nine-tenths of something. If I am going to start a project, I finish it.

1. Writing

As a journalism major, I know how to write well for both print and online publications. I have used my writing abilities to report the news and also to promote businesses in the marketing space.

2. Multimedia

In my reporter days, I worked as a television producer and video editor. I created my own stories from start to finish and designed my own special effects.

3. Email

By understanding that email design is not the same as Web design, I am proficient in writing email newsletters. I understand how to organize important information so that everything displays correctly.

4. Web Content Management

After having worked with many different Web content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal and DotNetNuke, I can say that I know how to organize and manage front-end appearances as well as the databases necessary to run the entire site.

5. Web Strategy

Digital strategy is the core of my responsibilities at APS. And at Project HOPE, my goal was to conceptualize a strategy that could bring together communications, fundraising efforts and marketing initiatives to present a united front for the Web presence.

6. Project Management

Throughout my career, I've managed several website transitions which comprise contract negotiations and working with other departments. I know how to advance projects to meet deadlines and keep everything on track.
